Octopus Digital Signage is a fast-growing technology company based in Gebze, building digital signage and IoT solutions. We build cross-platform desktop applications that run on Windows, macOS and Linux and manage thousands of screens and devices.
We're looking for a Node.js Developer with Electron.js experience to sit at the center of this ecosystem.
Role description
In this role you'll play an active part in designing and developing our desktop products using Electron.js, Node.js and TypeScript. Working with the product, design and backend teams, you'll build performant, scalable and sustainable applications.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain cross-platform desktop applications using Electron.js, Node.js and TypeScript
- Design scalable, secure and sustainable application architectures
- Integrate with backend services, APIs and real-time structures such as WebSocket / MQTT
- Work with UI/UX teams to build clean, user-friendly and responsive interfaces
- Work closely with backend teams on cloud and on-premise integrations
- Optimize application performance, startup time and memory usage
- Run code reviews, write tests and keep code quality high
- Provide technical mentorship to junior developers
- Contribute to CI/CD, release management and versioning
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of professional Node.js and TypeScript experience
- Has built desktop applications with Electron.js
- Command of JavaScript (ES6+), async programming and modular architecture
- Experience with WebSocket, MQTT or similar real-time protocols
- Experience with SQLite, PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines and Agile/Scrum
- Knowledge of security, data persistence and file systems in desktop apps
- Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
Nice to have
- Hardware, sensor or IoT device integration in Electron applications
- Experience with React, Next.js or similar front-end frameworks
- Working with Prisma ORM or modern data access layers
- Auto-update, code signing and build automation (Electron Builder, etc.)
- Cross-platform packaging, native module or low-level API knowledge
- Has built digital signage, media players or embedded systems
